This less-than-two-minute video very succintly lays out what Golden Rice is (it’s had two genes inserted that adds beta-carotene to the grain, an essential nutrient that provides Vitamin A). Vitamin A is the leading cause of child mortality in the world. A child dies every minute, his video says, because of Vitamin A deficiency.

He’s asking that Greenpeace make an exception to its zero tolerance for GMO stance on humanitarian grounds.
